Allow us to introduce ourselves: we’re thortful, and we’re pretty sure we’re the best card company out there. As the UK’s first and largest online greetings card marketplace, we give a platform to independent creatives and small businesses from the UK and beyond. Right now that means over 4,000 creators selling their designs and helping us make the world a more thortful place.
We’re proud to say that we pay our creators a really healthy cut of each sale, whilst they retain full intellectual property – which is exactly what they deserve. And we actively foster our creative community and with insights and inspiration to help them develop their portfolios

By becoming a thortful creator, you’ll benefit from:

So, how does it work?
You first need to set up a creator account which can be done here. Once you’re up and ready you can begin uploading your designs. You get 5 slots to start off with, so use them wisely!
Your cards will then be moderated by our team and if they’re suitable for our customers, they’ll be entered into the thortful catalogue. If your designs aren’t quite right for our audience – you can read more about why this may be here – not to worry, they will still be available from your profile to direct your customers to.
And that’s it! Simply upload your artwork, sit back and watch your royalties roll in.
Onboarding Creator FAQs
What kind of designs do you accept?
We print our cards in A6, A5 and A4 size, accepting portrait designs only. We are unable to accept square or landscape designs. As a creator you will only be able to design the front of the card, so designs where the punchline is on the inside are not suitable for thortful. Also, as we’re a print on demand company, your designs must be CMYK-friendly, and we’d advise you avoid uploading designs with glitter or foiling.
How will I get paid?
We pay via PayPal, so you’ll need to add your details into the Seller Details section in your account.
Do I need to submit a portfolio?
You don’t need to send us a portfolio, if you have a design in mind, you can upload it. We do only print portrait cards and we can only accept designs that are already suitable for print.
What are thortful’s eco credentials?
Sustainability is super important to us, in fact, we lead the category in the UK. Our cards and envelopes are chlorine-free, hard metal-free, as well as being fully recyclable and biodegradable. The ink we use is vegan. We also don’t fly or ship in from abroad.
Do I have to be exclusive?
You don’t have to be exclusive to thortful, but it does improve your chances of marketing features and other promotional opportunities. Being exclusive means the imagery, caption or content is not also sold with our online competitors. However, this doesn’t include your own website, Etsy, Not on the Highstreet and similar.
